Richler, Mordecai
(27 ene. 1931, Montreal, Quebec, Canadá–3 jul. 2001, Montreal).

Novelista canadiense. Creció en un barrio judío de clase trabajadora, en un ambiente parecido al que describen muchas de sus novelas. En 1951–52, vivió en París, donde asimiló la corriente filosófica del existencialismo, y posteriormente se radicó en Inglaterra. The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz [Los años de aprendiz de Duddy Kravitz] (1959) es un relato muy subido de tono sobre un niño judío en Montreal y su transformación en un implacable hombre de negocios. Entre sus novelas posteriores, se destacan Joshua Then and Now [Josué entonces y ahora] (1980) y Solomon Gursky estuvo aquí (1989). También escribió libros para niños protagonizados por su célebre personaje Jacob Two-Two.
